Passado was
formed in 1997, when Justin Jessett and Dave Callaghan put adds in a local paper
for singers and bassists. Coming up with the band name took awhile. They were
looking for something distinctive, and unique, defined means (a thrust
forward).
Then a set back occurred in the summer of 1999, the
singer had an amazing opportunity, and ended up moving back to Vancouver to take a
sound engineering course. The band came to a screeching halt, but continued to
write together but without a singer.
In 2002, Jorges Langevin
entered the band as their vocalist and frontman. That same year Ryan Pawlitski
replaced David Callaghan and became Passados current drummer.
After 2 years of writing and
recording, Passado released Cold Silence which sold 2000 copies in the first 2
months. The band followed up this release with a North American Tour and support
act for Hatebreed, Drykill Logic, Death by Stereo, Strapping Young Lad, Darkest
Hour and Avenged SevenFold.
With a North American tour
under their belt, Passado went back into the studio to follow up, after an
energized tour to record and release Cold Silence. The album was released in 2004,
with the producing directions of Greg Nordin. Passado continued to tour and write
with direction from numerous producers, managers and recording
companies.
After being kicked around and
misdirected, now in 2009, Passado, after a long awaited and highly anticipated
return, has now finished writing and recording "The Wicked That Thrills Us " Album.
Fans of Passado will embrace this CD with the raw sounds that are faster, heavier
and darker. The band has described "The Wicked That Thrills Us" as a personal
journey as many people close to the band were tragically taken before their
time.
The Album is now
on release and Passado is preparing for their upcoming North American Tour. Stay
tuned.
